True Green Day

I Green Day are not my favorite band but have played an important part in my youth, especially in between adolescence and early adulthood (personal).

but I removed the last Green Day not satisfy me at all: it came the consecration, the success of the general public, especially with the American Idiot album and 21st Century Breakdown I do not like at all. For me, Green Day and probably will always remain those of Dookie, Nimrod and Warning, what follows is something else and I do not care.

This, to me, is the best music they produced. E 'was hard to pick "only" three, I wanted to add someone else but if I did I would have created chaos instead of a post, however limitations imposed by sull'embedding youtube I helped / forced to choose, in addition to "castrate" in the choice: I would perhaps with more freedom including "Minority " instead of "Warning" and certainly I also added "When I Came Around. "

Greenday - Basket Case

Green Day - Good Riddance [Time Of Your Life]

2001: A Space Odyssey

A post from the double meaning: film and literature.

I think there is little doubt that 2001: A Space Odyssey is one of the most controversial films in cinema history. The reviews could not be more different, ranging from "absolute masterpiece" to "crazy shit". Obviously I, as a champion of pure relativism, I do not want to give a final decision or objective in this film, I just want to say mine. And mine is very simple: I do not like this movie, I find it excessive in all things annoying and trivial in all things fascinating. I try to explain, in every movie there are things that we love and others that annoy us: me, for example, I like the dialogues of inquiry, reflection, deep emotions, while hardly bear the silence, the purely visual communication and style exercises that would normally be understood only to insiders.
In 2001: A Space Odyssey by Stanley Kubrick practically has everything that I like and nothing that I like in a movie: the dialogues are either absent or trivial, I feel that I get is a mammoth exercise in style of a guy who is considered a genius of cinema. For me 2001: A Space Odyssey is a sequence of images almost completely devoid of history and for me, I know that many do not agree, a movie is still a story told through images and sounds ... in this case I see pictures, hear sounds, but do not feel the story is always much, too vague. My opinion is so bad.

rating around this film has always interested me much: they say all their own, and many seem to my eyes crazy. Well, I do not like movies where everyone can find what they want, because, in my view, is the main characteristic of a film that has nothing to say for himself.
When I discovered that there was also the Book of 2001: Odyssey space I decided to read it to see if the fault is all of Kubrick or not.

2001: A Space Odyssey by Arthur C. Clarke is a good science fiction book. Nothing earth-shattering, Asimov and Dick are much higher, but perhaps the contrast with the film, the book is very appealing. I had already seen the movie but the book is something completely different: simply put, behind all those images there is a story that you mentioned only Kubrick. Reading the book you can go directly to the story, understand it and think about it. Reading the book you can get rid of all those threads that make people almost fighting over football "The monolith represents progress," the monolith is the human civilization that supplants the animal, "" The film is a critique of progress, "" behind the movie is actually an exaltation of Nietzschean super-man " etc.. In the book, everything is obvious, or so, and you can enjoy a good science fiction story like many others, without falling asleep, bored, angry or mess your brain. One thing everyone reading the book finally understand what leads to the mythical HAL9000 "crazy", which I think is absolutely not possible to tell from the film.
One final note that the Italian edition, in a word, is bad , a translation and sometimes rough sometimes incorrect, accompanied by obvious "horrors" (in the sense of errors that scary, "but it would survived [...]", page 188 and five lines from the end) are the product of the publishing house NORTH a good reason to ask for a refund of at least some of the money spent.

So my advice to those who want to see or see again 2001: A Space Odyssey , first read the book (if you know English, read it in its original language, otherwise content with the Italian version available).

Meanwhile, a little 'good music (even if the quality is not the best).

This title could not please me.

Joy ... Order

I would love to be able to draw up the charts, I prefer movies, TV series that I love, the most beautiful songs ever heard. I can not, I can not do rankings, because there are too many variables in play, I'm working on, I am studying a nearly foolproof method to do it, but for now I still can not use it. In the meantime I want to mention two songs that would certainly be high on my list, two songs that I find it extraordinary that despite being very different, have something in common: a reader, find out what.

"Love Will Tear Us Apart" Joy Division

Here original video.
Jailbird was the movie "The Time Traveler's Wife."
